I have to call bullshit on this cloying gimmick-ridden faux historical drama. I'm not complaining about the big gimmick--the notion that Benjamin (Brad Pitt) was born old, and grows younger as the years pass, while his friends and family head in the opposite direction. David Fincher's (ALIEN 3 (1992), SE7EN (1994), FIGHT CLUB (1999)) latest film is based on the true story of the search for a serial killer in California who called himself The Zodiac, and sent taunting messages to the press. Careers were made and lost in the decade-spanning pursuit.
